The Grosvenor, Stockbridge

The Houghton Club, an exclusive, little known fishing club comprising of the great, good and various landowners (whose Club Rules say must live at least 50 miles from Stockbridge),
owns some of the best fishing on the River Test. It also owns the freehold to the Grosvenor Hotel. Until recently, it was leased to Greene King, who didn’t quite make full use of its potential.
However, the lease has now been acquired by investor and entrepreneur Simon Henderson, who has lavishly and exquisitely revived it. Under the guidance of South African GM, Peter Kunz, the Grosvenor is now probably the one of the best hotels in Hampshire.

The rooms, which are fabulous, are in huge demand and some are reserved for Houghton Club members. But there’s a cosy bar and a good restaurant – with an option for (even winter) alfresco dining under omnipresent clever gas heaters.
To stay at the Grosvenor during the Revellers' Club weekend 7/8 August, contact David Bradley on 0207 887 2285 and book a weekend membership.
£20 early bird before 24th July, £30 thereafter.
