Philip was studying hard for a journalism degree at Brighton when he met Tom Barton.  They were earning good extra cash working at a restaurant nearby. Thirsty after work, they repaired to the pub. 7 pints later they decided to invest cash they'd saved - £2,500  each - to launch Honest Burgers.
